Company profile

With perfect client orientation and a high personal commitment is Korea-Consult for me the ideal “Bridge-builder” for international businesses in Korea.
Martin Sallmann
Senior Project Manager, Max Aicher Group (Germany)

Korea-Consult was originally founded by Anton Scholz, a German national who has been living in Korea since the mid 1990’s. Starting with simple interpretation and consulting services, to assist international projects and businesses in Korea it soon became clear that there was a demand for more complete support. So Korea-Consult was established in 2001 to fulfil this need.

Over the past years Korea-Consult has grown into one of the most respected and sought-after companies in Korea, when it comes to supporting international media, events and projects all over the peninsula. We have been fortunate to work with many global companies, serving both high-profile clients and those with smaller needs.

However, Korea-Consult has never grown out of proportion, and that is by design. Because we strongly believe that quality is more important than quantity! Thus, with our small professional team we remain extremely flexible and as such are able to adjust to the unique demands of each client, all while remaining very efficient and keeping prices at a reasonable level.

Our network of trusted suppliers and professionals allows us to handle both large-scale and/or long-term projects. So from a simple helping hand in tricky situations to complete one-stop project management solutions, the Korea-Consult team will ensure that the job gets done!

What we do

When we choose Korea Consult, we found the perfect partner mixing the knowledge of the Korean culture, language and codes with an international event management experience as well as with a proven recognition by other big international sports federations.
Marc Vandenplas
Summer Universiade Director, FISU (Belgium)

Korea-Consult provides custom tailored solutions for both western companies doing business in Korea, as well as Korean companies doing business with overseas companies. We help you overcome language and culture barriers and can also give advice on how to establish or improve your business and how to best complete your projects here.

Finding the right partners and suppliers in Korea can be tough, especially when you do not know where to start and whom to trust. Let us help you turn whatever business or project you might have in Korea into a more joyful and successful experience.

Because despite the ongoing trends in globalization and networking, gaps between East and West on various levels remain much wider than most people would anticipate. These days, everybody seems to speak some English and communication always works out “somehow”. But we at Korea-Consult believe that “somehow” is just not good enough and will in the end only waste your precious time and money. Don’t let it come to that. Ask us first.

If you have an ongoing or upcoming project in Korea, there is a good chance you might need help at some point. And this is what we do! From limited support to full-scale project management, we provide the support you need.

Projects in Korea remain challenging for foreign companies, especially with the constant problems in communication and the inherent differences in business mentality. Projects that might look quite rosy in the beginning seldom continue like this until the end.

Where to find the right partners and/or suppliers that can be trusted? How to communicate with them and make sure things proceed as planned?even when you are not around? As a part of our service, we can follow up on things for you and offer a one-stop solution. No need for trial and error and trying to handle multiple suppliers at once. Just talk with us!

Importantly, we do not just take your business and outsource it to someone else. We are a hands-on project management company, and with our multi-lingual team and our use of trusted suppliers who have proven their skill and reliability, we will do what is needed to ensure the success of your project.

We have also supported countless smaller productions, for news, documentaries, TV shows and corporate communications.

We can provide simple fixer work, ENG teams or set you up with HD OB vans and SNG trucks. No project is too small or too big. And of course we can also provide services such as location scouting, footage production, helping you obtain shooting permits and anything else you might need, including logistics and hospitality.

Contact us to find out why major broadcasting companies such as ARD/ZDF, FOX, ESPN, NBC, NRK, IMG, RTL and countless others choose to work with us when conducting business in Korea.

Interpretation & Consulting

Mr. Scholz has an extraordinarily high linguistical and cultural expertise in connection with a lot of “business sense”. The perfect package to support us even in the most challenging negotiations in Korea.
Jurgen Reimers
CFO, Webasto (Germany)

Sometimes you just might need someone in the meeting room who is really on your side. A translator who not only understands what is being said but also lets you know what is being communicated. Quite often that is not the same in Korea!

Relying on interpreters from the other side or hoping that the other side speaks English well enough to really express what they mean is often not the safest choice for your business. If you want to make sure your message really comes across as intended and that you fully understand what is being communicated to you, you should make sure you have someone with you that you can fully trust.

So, if it is important to you that both sides truly understand each other, ask us for help. We can also help with communication strategies, as well as preparations for meetings and negotiations, and in this way help you to achieve your business targets.

And if you cannot attend a meeting for some reason, we can even act as your proxy and continue negotiations for you by following along with your set guidelines. This can save you both time and money and shorten the time needed to achieve real results.
